FAQ
Websites & Booking questions
Custom builds, ownership, timelines, booking platforms, payments, and how your site works alongside Turo.
Ownership & Independence
Yes, entirely. Domain, source files, database, and hosting account are yours at handoff. There's no forced subscription to keep the site online.
Yes. This isn't a replacement for Turo or any marketplace you're already on — it's a direct channel that runs alongside it.
Wheelbase Pro and HQ Rental Software. We recommend Wheelbase Pro for most independent operators, and we connect HQ Rental Software through HQ's own WordPress plugin or booking snippets; deeper HQ API features need HQ's Pro or Enterprise plan. We recommend these platforms but aren't affiliated with either. Using a different system? Tell us and we'll give you an honest read on whether it's a good fit.
Timeline & Getting Started
Typically 3–5 weeks from kickoff, depending on scope — fleet size, integrations, and how much content and photography you have ready going in. Delays on our end are rare; the biggest factor is usually how quickly we get your logo, brand details, and vehicle content back.
Yes. If you already have a website, we can migrate your content, vehicle listings, and branding over rather than starting from a blank page.
Yes. A redesign is scoped the same way a new build is — we'll look at what you have and tell you honestly whether a redesign or a rebuild makes more sense.
Payments & Booking
Yes — payments run through Wheelbase's booking engine (or Stripe/Square, depending on setup), so renters can pay online at the time of booking.
Yes. Security deposit collection runs through the same booking engine as the rental payment itself, so it's part of the checkout flow rather than a separate manual step.
It depends on scope — bring it up on the strategy call and we'll tell you honestly what's possible for your project. There's no standard financing plan advertised here because terms vary too much to promise in advance.
Website Services
A custom website is a one-time project from $1,850 one-time that you own outright when it's paid off. A managed website is a monthly plan from $99/month plus a $299 setup fee, built on our managed platform and maintained by us.
Yes. Your website is an added booking channel. Wheelbase Pro can bring each vehicle's Turo calendar into Wheelbase so your website shows those dates as booked; a booking made on your website still needs to be blocked on Turo.
Yes. Start with an audit, a fixed-price improvement sprint, or hourly on-demand support, depending on how much needs doing.
Yes. The website comes in three one-time packages: Launch ($1,850 one-time), Grow ($2,450 one-time), and Custom (Starting at $3,250 one-time). Larger builds are quoted after discovery. Monthly plans, hosting, marketing, AI, and operations support are separate and optional; none of them is required to get a working site.
Custom WordPress paired with Wheelbase Pro or HQ Rental Software for booking, availability, and payments. You get full WordPress admin access and own the site outright after final payment.
Most builds wrap up in about 3 to 5 weeks, depending on scope and how quickly we get your content, branding, and vehicle details.
Marketing, AI, and creative work depends on your platforms, volume, and integrations, so the published range is a starting guide. Your proposal states the exact one-time setup and monthly fees separately before any work starts. Third-party costs such as ad spend, telephony, SMS, and software subscriptions are charged separately unless your proposal includes them.
Yes. Migrating your current vehicle listings, photos, and content is part of the build, not a separate charge.
Wheelbase Pro & HQ Rental Software
No. We recommend and integrate Wheelbase for clients who use it, but we aren't a partner, reseller, or certified agency, and Wheelbase doesn't pay us. Your Wheelbase subscription is between you and them.
Yes. You sign up with Wheelbase and pay any Wheelbase fees directly. We connect your account to the website, set up the booking widget in your pages, and test the booking flow.
With Wheelbase Pro, each vehicle's Turo calendar can be brought into Wheelbase so your website shows those dates as booked. It works one way: a booking made on your website still has to be blocked on Turo, and Wheelbase doesn't publish how often the Turo feed refreshes, so double bookings are reduced, not impossible.
Where your Wheelbase account supports it, yes. Wheelbase can place a deposit hold and release it after the trip, and it's integrated with Roamly, a separate insurer, for eligible renters at checkout. Eligibility, coverage, and price depend on Roamly and your circumstances.
Custom builds typically take 3–5 weeks from kickoff. Managed websites usually launch in 7–14 business days once we have your content, Wheelbase access, and confirmed compatibility. Both are estimates, not guarantees.
No. Launch and Grow packages are WordPress sites; the Custom package is built without WordPress; managed websites run on our platform. Wheelbase's booking tools work in all three.
No. We recommend and integrate HQ Rental Software for clients who use it, but we aren't a partner, reseller, or certified agency, and HQ Rental Software doesn't pay us. Your HQ Rental Software subscription is between you and them.
On a WordPress site, HQ's plugin from the WordPress plugin directory connects to your HQ account and brings its booking forms and vehicle displays into your pages. On other builds, we use HQ's booking tools or API where your plan allows it.
Vehicle classes, locations, rates and seasons, deposit and cancellation rules, extras, and your rental agreement. Most delays come from decisions inside HQ that haven't been made yet, not from the website.
We recommend Wheelbase Pro for most independent operators and build on HQ when it's the better fit, often for multi-location or more complex operations. Our HQ guide walks through the questions that decide it.
