Privacy Policy
1. Overview
DirectRentalWebsites.com(“we,” “us,” “our”) is a division of SetupMyBusiness (SMB). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It applies to visitors, prospective clients, and anyone who submits information through our contact or consultation-booking forms.
It does not apply to the websites we build for our clients. Each client website has, and should maintain, its own separate privacy policy governing its own end customers — see Section 8 below.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you fill out a contact form, request a consultation, or email us, we collect what you choose to share — typically your name, email address, phone number, company or fleet name, current platform (Turo, private, or both), estimated budget range, project requirements, and billing information (not including full payment card numbers).
Content you submit. Brand assets, files, documents, designs, or other materials you upload as part of a project.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we use analytics tools (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) that automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and cookies.
Payment information. Payments are processed through secure third-party providers. We do not store full card numbers or sensitive payment details on our servers — only payment confirmations, transaction IDs, billing address, and the service purchased.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries and schedule consultations
- Prepare proposals and project quotes
- Send project-related communications if you become a client
- Understand site traffic and improve our content and design
- Maintain security
- Meet legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
For visitors and clients in the UK and EU, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contractual necessity — to deliver a service you’ve engaged us for
- Legitimate interest — to operate and improve our website and business
- Consent — where you’ve explicitly agreed, e.g. to marketing communications
- Legal compliance — where processing is required by law
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
This site uses cookies — small files stored in your browser — primarily through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so may affect some site functionality but will not prevent you from contacting us or booking a consultation.
6. Third-Party Services & Integrations
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to run this website and our consultation-booking process, including:
- Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager — site analytics
- Meta Pixel — advertising performance, if we are running active campaigns
- Our scheduling tool at book.directrentalwebsites.com — to manage consultation bookings
- Our email service provider — to send and receive project communications
Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
7. Links to Other Websites
This site links out to third-party tools we integrate with (such as Wheelbase), completed client websites in our portfolio, and other external resources. We don’t control, and aren’t responsible for, the privacy practices or content of any site we link to. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site before sharing information with it.
8. If You Engage Us to Build a Rental Website
This Privacy Policy governs directrentalwebsites.comonly. If you hire us to design and build a direct booking website for your rental business, that website will typically involve its own third-party integrations — commonly Wheelbase Pro, Stripe, Square, or similar payment and booking systems — to process your end customers’ bookings and payments.
Data collected through those integrations is governed by Wheelbase’s, Stripe’s, Square’s, or the relevant provider’s own privacy policy, and by the separate privacy policy we help you put in place on your own website. We are not a party to, and do not control, how those third-party systems handle your customers’ data beyond passing it to the integration you’ve chosen.
9. Data Retention
We retain contact form submissions, consultation requests, and related project correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry, deliver a project, and meet our own legal, accounting, or contractual obligations. If you’d like us to delete information we hold about you, contact us using the details in Section 17.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Object to certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Opt out of marketing communications
These rights are available under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents, and the UK/EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for residents of the UK and EU. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address in Section 17 and we’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests, and you’re welcome to designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell personal information for money. To the extent our use of tools like the Meta Pixel is considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA/CPRA, California residents have the right to opt out. You can opt out at any time by disabling non-essential cookies in your browser or by emailing us at the address in Section 17 with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
12. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there isn’t yet a common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, this site does not currently change its behavior when it detects one. You can still limit tracking through your browser’s cookie settings, as described in Section 5.
13. International Data Transfers
Because we work with clients internationally, your information may be stored or processed outside your home country. Where that happens, we rely on lawful safeguards — including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — to protect data transferred out of the UK and EU.
14. Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for business owners and operators, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
15. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security of any information you send us. Our liability for any security incident is governed by the disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability in our Terms of Service.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services, tools, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of this site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
